Inter Cars S.A., a leading distributor of spare parts for cars and motorbikes and garage equipment, on the day of 6 November 2013 signed a cooperation agreement with a leading Scandinavian automotive spare parts and accessories distributor, Mekonomen Nya Affärer AB Company.
The cooperation shall include mostly purchase consolidation, and as a result common logistics, regarding accessories, garage equipment and automotive spare parts from outside premium brand products. Another area of cooperation shall be constant monitoring of quality of products using the laboratory, in which Inter Cars S.A. has been testing and checking budget segment products for many years now, in order to assure the highest possible level of satisfaction of its Customers. Taking the above into consideration, further development of the lab is a natural course of things. Later on, the cooperation agreement shall also result in establishing a joint-venture, which is supposed to take advantage of consolidated purchase volumes in order to gain better trade results. The cooperation shall also apply to common development of IT systems, including e-commerce. The strategic goal of Inter Cars S.A. is still cooperation with independent automotive garages on the basis of products from premium suppliers and delivering the know-how regarding diagnosis and repairs of vehicles.
Mekonomen is the biggest automotive spare parts and accessories distributor in Scandinavia. It operates on a business model similar to Inter Cars S.A. Established in 1973 in Sweden, today also operates successfully in Denmark, Norway and Finland. Since May 2000, Mekonomen company has been listed on Stock Exchange in Stockholm. For the first half a year 2013 the group recorded sales revenue of around SEK 1,591m (EUR 181m).
